3/23/2018 I left the Bottomless Lake State Park around noon and headed for Texas. I had anticipated getting to Abilene but decided I would arrive there too late to find a camp site and set up before it got dark. I resolved on Lamesa, Texas where their City Park has RV parking. The City RV Parking is free and includes power and water for the first 4 days and $20.00 per day after that period.

I had dinner at K-Bobs Steak House which left a lot to be desired. If I stay another night I will cook a steak on the grills available to the RV campers in this park. 

3/24/2018 Continued my stay in Lamesa, Texas at the City RV parking area. I went food shopping at Claiborne's Thriftway  where I purchased a ribeye steak. Later, I will throw it on the grill provided (free) in the RV parking area. It's a nice warm day here which is nice after all of the cold weather I had in the mountains. I spent most of the day cleaning up this BLOG adding pictures and links to places I've been thus far. By the way, that Texas ribeye steak was delicious.

3/25/2018 I left my RV site in the Lamesa, Texas City Park before noon. I headed for Abilene, Texas or Waco, Texas whichever I felt like driving too. I went through Abilene but didn’t think much of it so I kept driving.  By the time I reached Abilene it was going to be too late to reach Waco to set up camp before dark. I checked my favorite Android App (ParkAdvisor) and found Lake Brownwood Texas State Park.

Lake Brownwood is off the beaten path and rather secluded on a nice quiet lake. I registered for two nights stay. I purchased the Texas Annual State Park Pass ($70) which entitled me to a second night stay at half price so I paid $30 for the two nights. The Texas Annual State Park Pass permits me, at no additional fee, unlimited entry to all Texas State Parks for one year, albeit I still must pay for camping at a reduced rate. Unexpectedly, I ran into a couple from Northern California; the wife being born and raised in Palmdale, California. She is related to the owners of Williams Real Estate in Palmdale.

3/26/2018 I played golf at The Hideout Golf Club, a newer course that has rolling terrain with numerous lakes and ponds. It’s a rather breezy course but a fun tract. Afterwards, I drove into the town of Brownwood, Texas where I had lunch at the Studebaker's Cafe & Grill. There I had the Texan staple, Chicken Fried Steak, and it was pretty good.
