Tennessee

5/31/2018 I left Villa Rica mid-morning traveling to my next destination at the Marion County Park in Jasper, Tennessee. Stopping only for lunch at the Gondolier Restaurant in Calhoun, Georgia the meal was consumed along with a delightful conversation with the owner, Dimitris Pateritsas. We discussed the beauty of Greece, Dimitris’ home country, and in particular the areas I should visit there. Arriving late afternoon at the Marion County Park , I was fortunate to be placed in a picturesque campsite directly on the Tennessee River shoreline. The encampment setup was performed in a very, very humid environment that exhausted me and I was exceptionally thankful to get the air conditioner working within the travel trailer. The Relative Tour

5/15/2018 Gathering my belongings then stuffing them into a small, loaned suitcase I, along with my Cousin Pat, began The Relative Tour. I was not privy, nor do I believe there was an actual itinerary. After a short time, I came to believe this trip to more of an adventure than a genuine organized event.   Upon our departure from the first rest stop, the helm and the navigational roles were turned over to me and the eccentricities of the history along our path to this trip's first destination of Troy, Tennessee . The first route deviation was in Tupelo, Mississippi , the birthplace of the King, Elvis Presley . After a brief stop and photo op at the Presley house , which is the location of Elvis’ birth, we then proceeded to a favorite hangout during Elvis’ youth, the Dairy Kream restaurant where I sought an Elvis meal deficient of peanut butter and/or bananas.
